A Pregnancy shoot takes place when you are between 30 and 34 weeks pregnant. The Newbornshoot is generally done on day 6 to 11 after birth.

Please contact me first to see if there is still space.Want to meet me and the studio first? You are always welcome for a cup of coffee! If you want to book a year package, it will be paid in 2 installments. After receiving the first payment, the booking is final. The newborn shoot is preferably done in the second week, but can be done until the baby is 4 weeks old. After each shoot I prepare a gallery of 20 edited photos within 2 weeks. During the ordering appointment at my studio you choose your photos. During the ordering appointment after the last shoot, the album will be put together. Any upgrades are to be paid on the spot. Sophie Baby Photography is VAT exempt.

The phone call and booking
If you indicate your interest in an Evolution annual package I always give you a call. This way I can answer all your questions and provide the necessary information. If in doubt, you are always welcome to come and meet me and the photo studio. Then you will receive an app with the link to the Booking Form. Here you can fill in all your details and information about the pregnancy. You can also indicate your top 3 photos and colors. Once I have received the booking form, I will send you an invoice with a payment request. After that, we’ll schedule the pregnancy shoot right away. If half of the package is paid, the booking is complete and I will send you the link to the Information Letter with the latest tips and tricks.
The styling for the maternity shoot
First I look at what backgrounds I will build, depending on your preference. Then I pick out some dresses and shawls that go well with them. Then comes the styling and getting ready. Here I make sure to set different atmospheres. That way I have the best chance of making you happy with the photos! When the styling is done, I put everything together. That way we can switch quickly later on.
The day of the maternity shoot
We always take some time to get acquainted first. Before we start I always inquire how you are doing. Are you having a good pregnancy or are there things we need to consider? That’s nice for me to know. Everything to make sure your pregnancy shoot is a fun experience and a beautiful memory.
Many choices
In total, a maternity shoot takes about 1.5 hours. Before the shoot, most women put on a beautiful makeup. Everything for the photo. Did you know that I have several dresses and wraps that you can use during your pregnancy? From size XS to XXL, I have plenty of choice. During the maternity shoot we do a number of clothing changes. With many of the dresses and shawls, I also have matching flowers. It is nice if you can provide several lingerie sets in skin color, white and black. A skin-colored strapless bra is very nice to work with. During the shoot we take ample time to have a drink and a break during the shoot. After all, a pregnant belly can be quite heavy, I know from experience 😉 
When the baby is born: the newbornshoot
If everything went well I will receive a message from you when the baby is born. As a rule, we plan the newbornshoot between that 6-11 after the birth. This way we have the greatest chance of sleeping photos. I always recommend leaving about 1.5 hours between the last feeding and the shoot and keeping the baby awake. In practice, you can never time this perfectly. That’s normal, the rhythm can be different every day! Therefore, it is the Newborn who determines the shoot, not the photographer. Of course I do my very best to give you beautiful pictures. Fortunately, it is also possible to take beautiful pictures of awake babies.
Posing
During the shoot, I will see how I can get the baby into the prop (basket, crate, bowl) as nicely as possible. It is important that the baby lies softly while doing this, so he can never hurt himself if he does roll or turn. For safety reasons, I always have a parent watch.
Patience
On average, I spend three hours on the newborn shoot itself. It takes a while for the baby to sleep. That is why I ask you not to put anything on that needs to be over the head after the last feeding. After all, that’s when the chances of the baby sleeping are greatest! That’s what I love most about this work. That there is always a moment when they are very sweet and deep asleep in a cute little crate!
Conditions and safety
Before the newborn shoot I always inquire how the delivery went. There is nothing as personal as childbirth and also the processing of it differs from person to person. It is nice if the father is also present. I always have someone sit next to the baby if I look away myself, for example to change a lens. Finally, I am -just to be sure- in possession of a Children’s First Aid certificate.
The order appointment
After the shoot I get to work on editing the photos and something beautiful for on the wall. When everything is ready, I send a message to schedule the ordering appointment. During the ordering appointment I show the photos. During the ordering appointment after the last shoot is the time to choose which memory suits you best. So during the Evolution year package we are going to see each other several times. Both for shoots and order appointments, so we can follow your child’s development. That way we capture all the milestones of your baby’s first year with a lasting memory as a result.
