About why it’s smart to book your newborn shoot on time
Today I am writing a blog on a recurring theme. Today I’m writing about why it’s smart to book your newborn shoot on time. During busy periods, it happens that I have to disappoint people. Often because they started looking for a suitable photographer too late, or because I unfortunately came across their path too late due to some other reason. From there I address the advantages of booking on time.
Begin op tijd met zoeken naar een geschikte fotograaf
Yes, it is smart to start looking for a suitable newborn photographer on time if you know you want to do a newborn shoot soon. The offer in the region of Brabant is huge! There are photographers in all kinds of different styles. For every taste and budget there is a suitable photographer to find. Sin to let the smallest moment of your newborn go by, right? It is best to start your search while you are still pregnant. This can be done as soon as the midwife has informed you that the baby is doing well, but many people wait until after the sex determination. After the baby is born, a hectic period often follows. How nice is it if you have already arranged your newborn shoot? How do you find a suitable photographer and what do you pay attention to?
12 Points of Interest
As a guideline, I listed 12 points of interest. Things to consider when looking for a suitable photographer for your newborn shoot:
- What is your budget?
- What kind of photography are you looking for? Lifestyle photography, where everything is photographed as it is or slightly stylized? Often this can be done at your home or in the photo studio. Or do you go for a posed newborn shoot where everything is styled to perfection and the baby lies posed in a prop? This is often done in the photo studio and this is the type of photography I offer.
…And if you have found a newborn photographer that appeals to you:
- Check out the website and visit the Facebook and Instagram profiles. Have they posted recently and do you feel a click?
- Do the work and packages appeal to you?
- Where is the photographer located?
- Is the photographer registered in the Chamber of Commerce?
- Does he or she have (recent) Google reviews and if so, what is written?
- Are there general terms and conditions on the website?
- What is the working method and how much experience does this photographer have?
- Does he or she have pediatric first aid/ does the photographer work safely? (Does the photographer have a parent watch for safety during awkward poses?)
- Is there easy contact with the photographer, how quickly do you get responses to your questions?
- Does the photographer have space in the schedule?
Why booking on time is so important
When you contact me, I always give you a call. Then I see if I still have room in my calendar around the due date or I suggest a date. I usually send you another app with the information we just discussed, plus the link to the Booking Form. At that point the date is reserved for you for 2 days, a little longer if it’s quiet. So you then have 2 days anyway to complete the booking. Then I will come back to you with the invoice and payment request. If you do, the date will be added to my calendar. Will radio silence follow, for whatever reason? Then I will call you once or twice. If you are late, someone may come along and fill your spot. That’s a shame, isn’t it?
Are you interested? Then don’t wait. The sooner you book, the sooner you are assured of your spot and the sooner I can place you in the calendar
