Method baby shoot
A baby shoot is possible when the baby is between 6 weeks and one year old. Please contact me first to see if there is still space. I will send you the link to the Booking Form. The shoot will take place in my photo studio in Eindhoven. After the shoot I will prepare a gallery of 20 edited photos and a digital sample album within 2 weeks. During the ordering appointment at my studio, you choose your photos and which memory best suits you. The rest of the payment should be made on the spot by pin. Sophie Baby Photography is exempt from VAT.

The phone call and booking
If you indicate that you are interested in a babyshoot I always give you a call. This way I can answer all your questions and give the necessary information. Then you will receive an app with the link to the Booking Form. Here you can fill in all your details and information about the baby. You can also indicate your top 3 in terms of photos and colors. Once I have received the booking form I will send your invoice with the payment request. If the baby is already born, we will plan the shoot right away. If the shoot is paid for, the booking is complete and I will send you the link to the Information Letter with the final tips.
The styling
First, I look at what backgrounds I will use depending on the top 3 colors and favorite photos you have indicated on the booking form. Then I pick something that I will put the baby in or that the baby can sit in. Next comes the styling. Here I make sure to set different atmospheres. That way I have the best chance of making you happy with the photos! When the styling is done, I put everything together. It is quite a lot to think about. For example, a heater is essential. If it’s too cold, the baby will get cold, and that doesn’t make them happy! With a Baby Shoot, it’s not as warm as a Newborn Shoot, but still nice and warm.
After or before nap time
I always ask in advance what is a convenient time for the baby shoot. In this I am flexible. Our goal is of course a happy and fit baby! In practice you can never time it perfectly. That is normal, the rhythm can be different every day! It is the Baby who determines the shoot, not the photographer. Of course I do my very best to send you beautiful pictures. Usually I manage to catch at least one smile.
During the ordering appointment, I also always show you a digital version of wall-art, as in this case a set of wall circles.
Posing
During the shoot, I am going to see how I can get the baby on the rug or prop (basket, crate, bowl) as nicely as possible. It is important that the baby lies soft when doing this, so he can never hurt himself if he does roll or turn. For safety reasons, I always have a parent sit next to them. Especially with babies who can just sit up by themselves, this is very important.
Quick shoot
I count about an hour to an hour and a half for a shoot. On average, I spend a little over an hour. During this time we do several styling changes. Experience shows that after that the arc of concentration runs out and the baby starts to get tired. That’s why I try to work quickly and so these are not long shoots. We do always try different things and we go for smiles. Here I often use the parents: I let you sing a song or act crazy. You often know what works for your child. My rule is that it has to be fun for your child.
Conditions and safety
I always have someone sit next to the baby when I look away myself, for example to change a lens. It is nice if the father is also present. That way, one of you can be behind the camera for attention, while the other sits next to the baby for safety. Finally, I am -just to be sure- in possession of a Children’s First Aid certificate.
The order appointment
After the shoot, I get to work editing the photos and making the digital version of the album and something beautiful for the wall. When it is ready, I send a message to schedule the ordering appointment. During the ordering appointment when I take the photos, the digital version of the album and the wall art. This is the time to choose which memory suits you best.
